It doesn't drive warranty rules, it isn't a guarantee of "lifetime", and you cannot assume you will make it to that number or beyond. There is no set max shutter count for a camera, even the numbers posted by Canon mean nothing, other than to show levels of robustness from one model to another (model A has 100K MTBF, but model b has 300K MTBF so obviously B is built better). It does affect resale, but in a very superficial way. One could record 3000 hours of video with an R6 but only take 1000 still shots, for example. The cameras would also have to store total time sensor was on to feed the EVF, rear LCD, movie modes, etc to really gain a sense of usage. Shutter counts don't really mean anything with mirrorless however. Would you buy a used car without knowing the mileage? Why are you even worrying about it? If it is that important and you want an ACCURATE count, you have to send it to Canon and pay to have it done. Is there a way to confirm shutter count in camera? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
I checked the forum and don't have an apple device to use the previously suggested app and the websites don't seem to work as the R6 does not imbed shutter data in the file. I'm looking for help in trying to find the shutter count on my R6.
